FREE Cycle Training for Families

Half-Term Week of Monday 25 October 2021.

FREE Cycle Training for Families

It’s your first cycling trip out as a family together, the bikes are ready, you’ve planned your route, you’ve got a picnic or identified the café, but how should you move along the road or shared path as a group?

Supported by funding from the Police Community Trust awarded to Oldland Parish Council, families can access a 3hr cycle training session. The Free training covers basic skills assessment, road safety and include a family ride on the Bristol to Bath Shared Railway Path.

Training will take place in the Longwell Green and Bitton Station area during the Half-Term Week of Monday 25 October 2021. Families completing the training will receive a Free Take Away Pack to support family adventures. Places will be limited so it will be a first come first serve basis for the half term week. A family can consist of one adult and one child and must use their own cycles and safety equipment.

To book please contact:

TAI CHI CLASSES

15 September 2021

Tai Chi Shibashi Classes

A Tai Chi Shibashi class is starting at Longwell Green Community Centre at Shellards Road, from Wednesday 15 September 2021 at 11am. The classes will take place outside in the Basketball Court, next to the tennis courts at the back of the Community Centre, so this should be a Covid safe environment. Although the football ground is having extensive work done at the moment, there is still access to the Basketball Court.

Tai Chi Shibashi for health and wellbeing is a gentle, flowing exercise routine that is both a joy to do and deeply relaxing. It improves balance, breathing and flexibility, is easy to learn, calms the mind and reduces stress, and after the last 18 months we could all do with reducing our stress level. This is an ideal exercise for those of us who are getting a little older and want to improve our health.

The lessons are free, and hopefully fun, so come along and give it a try.
